Creative ProcessI project my painting according a system of multiple collage using a variety of paper (sheer, transparent, opaque), playing with light and shadow that, together with the colourfull blots of oil pastels, create an illusion of depth that is in constant mutation. The use of bold, warm colours are a spiritual tool for me - they give me energy and create order and light. To me the blue colour is not essencial, I apply it as a disturbing element - rarely isolating it from warm colours that envelop it, to create elation. I work in cycles. An idea can take years to form: it’s the incubation phase. There’s tension and unrest, a reflection of the images that inhabit my imaginary world. Forms are still unstable; the hand that works in the spirit rejects them - it’s the rejection that implies destruction. As I evolve, the images change and flow solidly, giving way to the construction phase: all elements organize and interconnect. |
