1997 - In the Begining there was Silence |
Catalog TextsTeresa Ribeiro picked the images that passed under her studio window and tied them in a bundle of dreams with a red string. Then she placed them in the infinite prairie of the canvas which is the unmeasurable reality of the unreality of the artist and art. And in there she hid tyrants and saints, heretics and wanderers that try to be born, tearing the space in the infinity of colour. Images from souls that don't exist, dreams and illusions of a world that Teresa Ribeiro creates and draws in the imaginary mirror where the eternity of the creating artist casts in the dream of its true Art. In this way, Teresa Ribeiro's “No Princípio Era o Silêncio” is the unfolding of the creative infinity of the painter, which the paintings so magnificently exemplify to whoever wishes to dream.
